Out and about: February 2020

Here at DYT, we’re rarely all in the same place at the same time. Our Education team are kept busy visiting schools and running workshops to help teachers and educators better support learners with SEND, while our CEO and Directors regularly speak at conferences, round tables and events, sharing knowledge and fighting for improvements in education policy.

School visits
Our Education Team are extremely busy up until February half term, working with our partner schools to deliver a range of sessions and interventions to promote inclusive classroom practice.
Ambler Primary (London)
We’ll be looking at the role of the Teaching Assistant and developing independence.
University of Cambridge Primary
Our Consultant Teacher, Ruth Everett, will be running a session on dyslexia and literacy.
Bridge Academy (Milton Keynes)
We’ll explore what ‘high quality teaching’ looks like and review the academy’s literacy resources.
King’s Academy (Ringmer)
We’ll work with them to develop a whole-school literacy policy, and look at the role of TAs.
Sir William Ramsay (Bucks)
Our Consultant Teachers will work with the school to review their literacy in Mathematics.
Coppice Valley (Harrogate)
Our Consultant Teacher, Richard Selfridge, will complete an audit for our Drive for Literacy programme.
St Leonards Academy (Hastings)
We’ll work with St Leonard’s Teaching Assistants to develop a process for introducing vocabulary.
Central Academy (Chichester)
Our Consultant Teacher, Julie Stewart, will complete an audit for our Drive for Literacy programme.
Paignton Academy (Devon)
Kelly will work with the SENCo and work with curriculum leaders on embedding literacy in the school.
St Matthias Academy (Bristol)
We’ll work on phonics for Key Stages 3 & 4, and with TAs on supporting learners in groups or one-to-one.
Notton House (Chippenham)
Consultant Teacher Kelly will help develop a whole-school approach to phonics.
Landsdown Park Academy (Bath)
We’ll work on exam access arrangements, and continue to work with their English teacher!
